Jibé Laurin - démarche artistique
Mon travail artistique repose sur une exploration picturale et physique de matières provenant de la ferraille, notamment l'acier de voitures abandonnées. Je découpe, plie et assemble ces matériaux et me sert de leurs patines, rugosités et imperfections comme composantes colorées et texturées pour créer des oeuvres sculpturales graphiques. À travers mon travail de transformation et de revalorisation des matières post-consommation, j'aborde également implicitement les notions de durabilité et pérennité des ressources. Mes sources d'inspiration sont multiples et varient entre biodiversité et environnements urbains. Cette juxtaposition entre des éléments naturels et industriels est au cœur de ma recherche esthétique, dans une quête constante d'équilibre entre ce qui est vivant et ce qui est façonné.
Jibé Laurin : artistic approach
My artistic practice is based on a pictorial and physical exploration of materials derived from scrap metal, particularly the steel of abandoned cars. I cut, bend, and assemble these materials, using their patinas, roughness, and imperfections as colored and textured components to create graphic sculptural works. Through my work of transforming and repurposing post-consumer materials, I also implicitly address the notions of sustainability and resource retention. My sources of inspiration are diverse, ranging from biodiversity to urban environments. This juxtaposition of natural and industrial elements is central to my aesthetic research, in a constant quest for balance between the living and the manufactured.
